Block 7 is located less than an hour’s drive west of Muscat and is accessible via the Muscat–Sohar Highway up to Mulladda, followed by a 25-kilometre drive south along the paved Rustaq Road to the village of Al Hazm.
In 2013, Alara submitted mining license applications over two highly prospective copper-gold zones—Daris East and Daris 3A5—following extensive exploration activities conducted in Block 7 between 2010 and 2012, including:
• 1,200 line-kilometres of helicopter-borne electromagnetic (VTEM) surveys
• 163 line-kilometres of ground magnetic surveys
• 20 line-kilometres of ground IP and EM surveys
• 6,766 metres of drilling across 78 holes for various purposes in Block 7
These exploration campaigns led to the definition of a copper-gold resource at Daris East and confirmed the presence of high-grade copper mineralization at the Daris 3A5 prospect.
